As usual, the parts were all in there, I just needed to take them out. Project Easy Rider kicks off. With a behemoth 3.5" thick slab of Western Maple that Chainsaw Dan kindly passed onto me a few years ago. Here's a few pics of the pattern making and the rough mill:

Finding the Flow





This is where the hard and soft lines start to present themselves. It's also where I may need to park this ultra-marathon-Leadville-equivalent project for a while given that my skin wants nothing more to do with Black Walnut. Just as things are getting exciting. A few pics of blending the front legs with the seat after 'legging up'. Sam's contruction techniques meant the glue-up is a bit of a non-event; slap on some tightbond and drive the screws home. The arms and spindle/headrest assembly will be more interesting no doubt. lots more material to remove before then...to be continued...at some point...
