This is what I came up with; dry fit of the Don Draper drinks cart. Still needs some shaping. Definitely a mockup/prototype, couple things I need to tweak.

Further Exploring

I figured Don Draper's (Mad Men) drinks cart would make a fun project. Curves, sculpted joinery etc. Bit like making a chair.

Turns out it was designed by an Italian designer in the early 50's, Cesare Lacca. He made a few different bar carts, all cool. I pieced together a full scale drawing from a pretty crappy internet photo. Started making patterns. we'll see where this prototype goes.

Spoon Carving

I shadowed a spoon carving course at the school recently. Highly addictive stuff. Prepping for class:

Paper Birch, still green, fresh off the bandsaw:

My carving efforts:

Shop storage

Made a little dovetailed hanging drawer to store card scrapers etc.

The bench room Bessy's were housed in clamp cabinets, made from some Cherry I harvested with Dan many years ago.

Longer K body's sneaked in next to the dust collector.

I mocked up a machine cut drawer joint for students who don't want to cut dovetails. The Half Blind Dado Rabbet, from the Rogowski Joinery book.
